Thought this wasn't a bad idea :p

But I guess Un Sospiro was to hard for me so any other suggestions, easier ones?

What are the best pieces ?(doesn't matter how hard , I'll even (try to) play the Rach 3 if needed !)

Play something you love. Play it with passion, and emotion. It doesn't matter what you play. It's how you play it.

Of course if that doesn't work, try Liszt's transcription of Widmung by Schumann.

I posted a similar topic like this a looooong time ago. In my opinion, If you want to impress a girl via piano, your best bet is something with a hazy tone. Liebestraume, or the 1st. mov. of the Moonlight will achieve that. here are a few others I would suggest:

-the first section of Chopin's op.10 no.3 etude
-op.25, no.6
-Waltz Op.64 no.2
-Impromptu no.3
-any of the Op.73 polonaises
-A slow and painful execution of the Raindrop prelude.

-Beethoven's tempest
-Sonata no.7

-Habanera on piano
-Several movements from Bach's partitas or suites (the slower ones)

-Any of Rachmaninof's Moment Musical
-Several Liszt transcriptions that shall remain nameless due to difficulty.

It's probably better to find other ways to impress girls!

Chopin's Fantaise-Impromptu

Learn the electric guitar.

No way, all the classy girls appreciate a guy with intellect. Meaning Chopin/Liszt is better than hard rock!

Chopin nocturnes tend to work quite well. Op. 9 No. 2 is my favorite because it's simply beautiful and many people recognize it. (It's always a plus when the girl says, "Oh, I love this one!")

Chopin's Raindrop Prelude has never failed me. But you MUST give the whole heart wrenching story behind the piece (Chopin and Teburculosis and the Raindrops...)

Liszt Liebestraum is great. Especially talk about the love poem it was written after (of course, the poem isn't refering to love in a romantic sense, but you can say it is anyway )

Shumann-Liszt Widmung (Dedication) is a great option.

Schubert-Liszt Soiree de Vienne No. 6 never fails.

Some of the Scriabin Preludes (ie: op. 11 no. 11)

Sometimes getting their attention with something raw and flashy is good. Playing the fugue from the Totentanz always does the trick for me!

Yeah, don't tell them you play, let it happen on accident. wait until you end up somewhere with a piano and just sit down casually and play. I would imagine anything you played would make a good impression.

Well, it works if they are musicians.

Pretend to improvise something and name it after her. Better yet, really improvise or compose something for her.

Play anything well, and if the girl (or guy for that matter) is worth a second thought then she (or he) will be impressed.

Heck, you don't even have to play well, depending upon who you're trying to impress. Just the fact that you play can sometimes be enough. Something that happened at a gig (this ties into a recent thread about people asking to sit in): During a break, some guy approached me and asked if he could play a solo piano piece for his girlfriend, since it was her birthday. I was reluctant (see other thread), but he wouldn't take no for an answer, and eventually his girlfried joined in and assured me he was a good pianist. So I agreed, while my band sat at the bar. What transpired was endless formless noodling that was so bad people starting leaving the club. His girlfriend however was so charmed she went up on stage and sat next to him, getting all cuddly and lovey-dovey. Never had five minutes seemed like an eternity.

I keep getting this stupid stupid stupid HTML error that nobody seems to be able to explain...so I'm going to make this post a LOT shorter than the last one. I'm not going to use HTML OR parenthetical references of any kind...so there should be no reason for an error.

Bottom line: The only truly decent way to impress a girl on the piano is to play something you wrote. To put it bluntly, most girls don't give a sh*t about Beethoven 'et al'.

If she's a classical music fan, or better yet a pianist, get her to play first....

For the latter, I did say:

I used to shotgun a regular can in <4 seconds. I had a friend who could, by himself, beat you in a two-man-team case kill. It never impressed anyone outside a fraternity.

Similarly, bench pressing a Buick isn't impressive to anyone except those who actually know what it means...ie other body-builders.

But, being social, going out and having a good time, and working out and taking care of your body are two absolutely great ways to do the following: meet a girl, and show her you care about you...without being narcissistic. *winks*

And after you're through playing, put something on the stereo: but not Bolero. I suggest three nocturnes by Debussey.
