Depends on the girl...depends on the piano.

Wow... I can't answer as quickly as I thought I would. It depends. What are we talking about? A nice polished Steinway vs. a Mag. Covergirl? Or are we talking a Steinway vs. the slightly overweight neighbor with a lisp?

You know that you're just setting yourself up for a "Why pianos are better than men" thread, yes?

This has the potential to be one of the funnier threads in a long time.

OK sure a Steinway(or some other nice piano) vs. a mag cover girl.

Personally I prefer the piano.. unless its like the one at school and hasn't been serviced in twenty years, mind you if I were a guy out here where I live I might like a girl in the same condition....

Ah, woman. She makes the highs higher and the lows more frequent.-Nietzsche

but hey, pianos make the highs higher and the lows LESS frequent.

Choose one dang it! I wonder what the married guys have to say about this. Maybe kokomo is married and thats why he doesn't want to choose.
But still, choose one.

My piano. No question.

Reasoning:

1) Every girl I've ever gotten involved with has played games and messed with me. None of them ever made any sort of commitment and things never lasted for long. My piano, on the other hand, never fails me and is ALWAYS there.

2) My piano only talks when I make it talk, resulting in significantly fewer headaches.

3) I can make sweet love to my piano whenever i want (well, at least sweet musical love).

4) My piano doesn't get really grumpy and erratic once a month.

5) When my piano develops a few loose screws, I can hire a tuner to fix it. It's back to normal within a few hours.

6) My piano doesn't bi*tch at me when I pee with the door open.

7) I'll never run out of things to talk about with my piano; there is an endless supply of piano literature.

8) My black Yamaha baby grand is sexy as heck.

9) My piano doesn't judge me.

10) When I get really frustrated with it, I can take a break from my piano without having to worry about the consequences.

I'm gunna go hide under a table now and cover my head for protection.... f help

Please note that the only point above with actually holds true is the 1st. My chauvinist pig attitude is meant only in jest and should not be taken seriously. If were to find a girl I truly loved, I would probably give up my piano.

But then again... how many guys would choose the piano over their wife? none, some, or most? laugh

This is easy. The piano shuts up when you're tired of playing.

I'm married, and I'd choose the woman (or wife, in my case). And no, my wife doesn't read PW posts.

I'm a little biased by my 20 year old hormones, but I'd have to say Girls over Pianos. Although, CV Alkan raised some very good points... laugh

I shall now refute these remarks:

1) When a piano fails you, it's all your fault. When a girl fails you, it's all hers. wink

2) Pianos don't talk, they simply translate your own motions into another language. Hearing yourself in that language has its uses, but in the end, you're only conversing with yourse.f

3) No comment. (Well, I could, but it's a family forum.)

4) My piano gets erratic and grumpy every time I haven't practiced in a day or two (which is usually more than once a month!)

5) Girls don't have tuning pegs. This enhances the activity mentioned in #4 above.

6) Okay...fair enough.

7) With a girl, you can talk about piano literature and English literature, including Joyce and D.H. Lawrence.

8) Girls are softer and warmer, and they come with different outfits. They also move around, and some of those movements can be very sexy.

9) My piano judges me all the time. frown

10) I play the piano for a living. When I get frustrated with it, I have to keep doing it anyway. Were I to play with girls for a living, I might feel differently.
