Has anyone here heard of the rock band "Muse"?
Their lead singer/pianist "something Bellamy" is apparently known for playing Rachmaninoff pieces on stage. Does anyone know how much truth is in this, because, to play them you must be at least an accomplished pianist yes? They arent light pieces you coull pick up on quickly are they?!
Maybe he plays simplified themes or something, theRH with easy chords as accomp(icantspell)ent? i know that sounds silly but it maybe something of that sort that happens. anyway if you have heard anything of it could you please post to let me know? thanks!

I've seen a video on youtube of the Muse pianist - he is very advanced and I would definetely believe he plays rach on stage, in fact, type "muse Bellamy" into youtube and you'll find a vid of exactly that!

It doesn't surprise me in the least that you would find an advanced pianist playing in a venue other than classical. I bet he makes money doing it too! laugh

R. Clayderman was classically trained if I remember correctly. Clayderman opted for the more profitable route...

Yes- Paris Conservatoire, though who would have guessed.
