I know this is mostly classical forum, but Im looking for Billy Joel's Piano Man, the one played on the CD. The few pieces I've got are not the same. I don't want to order it from somewhere and find out it's what I already have. Any advice appreicated

I think I've read somewhere that it does not exist. Why, I don't know. I know I've looked for it before to no avail. What I've seen is pretty simplified. Maybe the best you can do is listen to the recording and fill in the notes on your sheet music accordingly. A lot of extra work, but might be worth it, though.

Most 'pop' tunes don't have an exact arrangement available on sheet music. Sometimes the arranger gets pretty close, sometimes it's just awful. I've seen guitar transcriptions so accurate they notate things like feedback and (why I'll never know) mistakes, I wonder why they don't do the same thing for piano. Some pop piano is really simple, but some is complicated enough that (good) sheet music would be really appreciated.

I've never heard Piano Man sheet music sound anything like how he plays it on his albums. Its very frustrating. There is one book that has music written fairly similar to the album's - it has "Summer, Highland Falls" and "James" on it. Turnstyles, I think. Jodi

Someone just mentioned this Billy Joel book on another piano website. The person has Elton John from the same Hal Leonard collection and says Elton is like the original, so probably Billy is too. I checked amazon & they have it & reviews look good.
