In answer to the first question, we use Yamaha midi keyboards that produce a normal-sounding note, not those tinty notes that most computers have. Since the sounds goes through the keyboards from the computers, we hear it as just a normal sound, THANK GOD! Putting down the notes is pretty easy, and doesn't take too long.
As for the second question, I do practice at least 2+ hours a day as well, if I'm able. If I'm somewhere where there is no piano or keyboard, well then, obviously, no practice.

I have some few last questions then I gtg and study for damn school.

What kind of music can you currently play?
I am learning flight of the bumble bee,
liebstrime(sp), k545, and a movement from one of beethovens piano sonata.

And are you going to take a degree in music?
I want to drop out of school and study the piano, but if i told my parents that they would kill me!

I am currently playing the Chopin Preludes. This is just on my own, though. In my piano lessons, I am working on Clementi Sonatinas. My teacher doesn't want to do more advanced stuff, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. He can't stop me from playing Chopin if I want to. Actually, I have never even mentioned to him that I play Chopin (self-taught. Actaully, I was completely self taught at the piano for almost 3 years before I got a teacher) or that I even compose! Maybe I should, eh? I want to really get into a piano career. I want to major in it. I hope that I can get into a good music school. I don't know about dropping out of school, though. I've only got one more year left anyway.

BTW, another 100 posts have passed. This is my 500th post.

I meant one year left of school. I graduate next year. Oh yeah, we had a big discussion about this a long time ago, don't reffer to classical music or any music without words as a song, its called a piece. And, I love my teacher. I get free lessons, and hes a concert pianist and choioral conducter for Seattle Symphony. He also plays organ for his church on sundays. Hes a very nice person. I met him at a piano concert that he gave last summer, where he played some Chopin, who is my idole.

I occasionally compose my own works too. Here's something I wrote recently:
http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/showscore.pl?scoreid=17606

You'll need the scorch plugin to see and hear it, though.

I've just started to compose a new piece. If I can figure out how to get music on here by the time that I'm done, I will. I call my new piece: "The Day From heck, Memorial To September 11, 2001"
It starts out as a cheery tune, as the day started out fine in New York, they were looking at a day better than the day before in weather, people were going about there normal daily business, etc. Then, the tune turns to somewhat of a confussion, when the first highjacked plane slams itself into the first tower of the World Trade Center, and everyone thinks that its a just an accident, but then turns into a tradgic tune when the second highjacked plane smashes into 2 World Trade Center and we realize that this was no accident. It will go on in a pattern like this. Its going to be in a kind of Sonata form, with each movement displaying a different part of the day, and a different emotion. It will probably take me a long time before I'm finished with it. I just started this morning. I was inspired to write it while watching replayed footage of the tradgedy on television this morning.
