I have been spending the last few days out of town at the house of an uncle of mine. While there, I picked up a book and started reading it. It was one of those weird but true kind of book that you get from Readers Digest. I find those kinds of book really interesting. Anyway, I was reading this book when I came across a stroy about a lady who wrote compositions for piano. The thing is, she knew nothing about the piano!

Let me explain: She [supposedly] saw visions of dead composers. She was a phsycic. She wasn't too big on classical music, so the first time she ever had such an experiance, she had no idea who was talking to her until about 7 years later, when she saw a picture of Franz Liszt. Liszt had told her what to write and how to write it. Liszt, however, wasn't the only composer that used this girl. She also saw visions of Shubert, Chopin, Beethoven, and others as well. In the book, there was a picture of a peice that she wrote for Shubert. It was a moment musical. Experts say that there is no way she could have been faking this. Despite the fact that she couldn't play piano, she had also identically imitated the style for each composer that composed through her from beond the grave. It was a most interesting story.

But, I have forgotten her name and it makes me really mad! I wanted to look up some more information on her in the internet but I forgot the name and I didn't write it down or anything! Does anybody know who this person is? Has anybody eles ever heard of her? Because I would really like some more information on her. Thankyou.

That is extremely interesting...I would like to know her name also.

I wish I was her position so that I get some Glenn Gould visions and visitations through that psycic ability. =0)

Glenn Gould in regards to music:

The problem begins when one forgets the artificiality of it all, when one neglects to pay homage to those designations that to our minds-to our reflect senses, perhaps-make of music an analyzable commodity. The trouble begins when we start to become so impressed by the strategies of ours systematized thought that we forget that it does relate to an obverse, that it is hewn from negation, that it is but a very small security against the void of negation which surrounds it.

Are we cousins? I have an uncle who, I believe, had the same Readers Digest book (also had stories of Spring-heeled Jack, Loch Ness monster, etc.) that I remember reading when I was a kid.

Anyway, the woman's name was Rosemary Brown. Search Google for "Rosemary Brown" +Liszt and you'll get a few hits.

Thankyou so much for the name. No, I don't think we're cousins, seeing as I don't have any 1st cousins on my dads side of the family. (I will in November though!) I have a ton on my mothers side though.
