I got a mug with poor half dead Chopin's photograph on it. I think that will turn into a pen holder. Somehow having coffee in it seems disrespectful.

Slow down and do it right.

I got Argerich's Bach CD, her new DVD with the Schumann piano concerto, Ogdons recording of Opus Clavicembalisticum, the movie Copying Beethoven, and a movie on Rachmaninoff called a Harvest of Sorrow. I was also signed up for a pipe organ camp and the Kimmel Center in Philly for next year. And that was just the music presents.

Once during a concert at Carnegie Hall, the violinist Rachmaninoff was playing with lost his place in the music and whispered to Rachmaninoff, "Where are we?" Rachmaninoff replied, in all seriousness, "Carnegie Hall".

Santa came through for Jason. (No life "partner" of course, but Santa, nor anyone else ever promised me anything.)

Yet the score duly arrived Christmas day. Santa is rather more high-tech these says... he sent me a pdf. [/b]
More or less, Santa came through, more or less, for me as well. I asked him to get me into Harvard, and while he couldn't bring that Christmas because the application deadline is the 7th of January anyways, he still got me an interview at UPenn for a PhD Program.

Have you ever felt like your entire being was radiating happiness?

Besides that, I was given 900$ in test fees, application fees, score reporting fees, and other miscellaneous expenses associated with applying to graduate school, some musical recordings, thermal underwear ( laugh ), a Canon videocamera, lots of candy, and promises to pay for my Henle order + the Durand edition of the Debussy etudes.

Unfairly exceptional of a Christmas that may be, these gifts are all overshadowed by being with my whole family in Paris. At the same time, however, even that seems far less significant compared to hearing from UPenn.

I got a piano lamp, and a nice pad for the hard-cornered wood bench of my new RX-2.

I've only had one thing on my wish list for the last 10 years, and once again, I was stiffed by Santa. Mary J. Blige. It appears that I'll have to go out and take matters into my own hands! wink

Yes I have. But only after I started to sweat profusely did I realize that the seat I was sitting on was right in front of a radiator. laugh
