Hello, Quick question on how this should be played. Normally I'd play it was a triplet, but since I am no longer playing only for myslef it needs ot be correct.

The time signature says 64/22..
But in most bars there are 4 quarter notes.
The part I need help with, is this bar there are 5 quarter notes, with a 3 over 3 of them.

HOw fast should these be played. In the time of 2 quarters?

I mean specifically the 3 quarter notes with the number 3 over them.

It says what? eek

Anyway, irrespective of this time signature, what you are describing are quarter-note triplets. The 3 with the 3 over them are played in the time of 2. If I've understood your question correctly.

I'll take a picture of the sheets.

Not the best quality but you can see it.

Obviuosly I play the piano part and not the vocal.. But I have to play ALSO the vocal notes so no one gets confused.. wink

The time sig at the top says 6/4 and right be side it 2/2. Thats the correction

Ah, now I see smile

The key signature isn't 64/22, but alternating 6/4 and 2/2.

What I said about the triplets stands.

Not quite - if I'm interpreting what you wrote correctly smile That would be accurate for a triplet of eighth notes followed by 3 quarter notes.

This is triplet quarter notes. Better to think of two minim (half-note) beats per bar (that is, after all, what 2/2 means).

So:
First beat, subdivided into three; second beat, into two. Set a steady metronome beat if this helps, fitting the first three notes into the first beat, the next two into the second.

Thank you for clearing this up!
Unfortunately, this has been cut from the service as the music was too high to sing or something
