Probably the second best Chopin Polonaise (the first being the Heroic and the third being the Militarie) I have decided that I want to learn how to play it. Has anyone played this and if so, what is the level of difficulty for this peice?

Jgoo:

As the Polonaises go, this Op 26 C# minor is a relatively easy work, technically, and has some quite lovely moments in it. Similar to the "Military" - but more so - it has a rather abrupt ending, an ending that is somehow difficult to pull off convincingly. Do try it. I've always enjoyed playing it (for whatever that might be worth!).

Regards,

BruceD

My two favorites are the Polonaise in f# minor, op. 44, and the Polonaise-Fantasie.

I did play the c# minor Polonaise once, and it's not super difficult technically. It is a fantastic piece though, you won't regret working on it. Have fun!
