Tonight I am actually playing the first part of Rondo Alla Turca without stopping. I can't believe it.

But what do I call it? "First movement"? "First section"? I don't know the proper term.

I'm talking about the first fourth or so of the score, up to the part where you play three A's simultaneously. After that, you go into a part where you hold your hand open and bounce up and down the keyboard, playing notes an octave apart. I'm sure you highly knowledgeable people will know what I mean.

I'm not overly confident but I think one way of putting it would be "halfway through the recapitulation" (that is, of course, basically where the beginning theme repeats itself). Congratulations on playing through! I know how it feels.

Actually, since it's a rondo ABCBAB'Coda, you would refer to it as the "A section".

Yeh it's the A section - not the recapitlation though, that's when the first section/theme returns in a different key (there isn't one in the alla turca)
