Does anyone know what the Chopin piece is in the movie "The Deer Hunter"? It came up in class the other day, but my teacher had never seen the movie. Some said it was a nocturne, others said it was a prelude. And now I'm curious.

pdolce smile

But, I played it perfectly at home!!

It is the g-minor nocturne from Op.15. Beautiful and relatively easy to play wink

Heres a site that lists many movies and the (classical) music that is used in them. You can search by movie title or composer name.

http://www.bohemianopera.com/moviesD.htm

Another good movie site (probably the best) is

IMDB.com (InternetMovieDataBase),

but it has very scanty musical information, usually only the name of the muical director. Lots of other info though. I just threw it in because you were talking about movies. The first site is really pretty good, and is updated regularly. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Puccini have their own seperate pages.
