For the 1988 Olympics (what city was that?) opening ceremonies, they had 88 pianists playing 88 pianos all playing Rhapsody in Blue at the same time. Talk about being too heavy and shmaltzy.

I was born the year Glenn Gould stop playing concerts. Coincidence?

Heck, I couldn't even get my one kid to play the piano:-)
yes, i most definitely have. they're 5 classically-trained pianists who are siblings, and very talented ones at that. i wish i had saw them on '60 Minutes' when they were up there. either they come from a wealthy family, or both of their parents are classically-trained pianists.

Definitely worth joining. Actually much less flammable than Piano World, a bit more intimate and the humor is drier. Check it out.

Maybe I'm just naive... eek
I know this is old, but since no one else answered your question. I (and my numerous brother and sisters) have been home schooled all my life and I know exactly what your getting at. I really have no social life, Iíve never gone anywhere, I hardly know anyone and I have difficulty practicing 3-4 hours a day. (The reason being another story entirely) But I find that in this situation that I really donít care most of the time to meet people, although I it might be nice, but generally it doesnít bother me. The youngest one, Ryan Brown, currently goes to the Manhattan School of music and studies with Philip Kawin, I see him walking around all the time.

I was given a cd of the Five Browns as a gift, I would like to hear each of them play solo - with all their hard work, each of them deserve a chance to shine. smile

Howdy yall! I saw the 5 Browns perform here in Tulsa, OK last week and it was a very good show.
It was more entertaining than I thought it would be. The best part of the show was when one of the male pianists played a song and he played part of it with his elbows and a foot on the keyboard. Never seen nothing like it. It was totally unexpected. I am sure some of the people in attendance didn't like it, but I loved it. It was totally different from the good clean image you expect from them. I laughed so hard.
