Thanks for the help. Here's my piano. It's hard to get a frontal view since there's no room to take a picture from that angle.

Congratulations on your new piano, and best wishes as you start your piano playing. I was sure I'd see a sleeping bag under your beautiful new instrument. Thanks for posting the pictures. I hope that you find a wonderful teacher that inspires you to great heights musically.

CKsan,

Congratulations on your New Bechstein A190. It is a very nice piano. Have NO buyer's remorse!

You could probably search the archives here for more info on the difference between the C. Bechstein's and the A series, if you want to know more, but hey...you already have gone up in price, and size, and you have done well to buy the A190.

The mid low section, from Middle C left, is called the tenor section and the lower left section is called the bass. I, too, love that area! So rich and powerful.

BTW, your piano is NOT too much for a beginner. Nice grands often inspire one to practice more, and sound better sooner! You will have great contol and such satisfaction as you hear yourself playing. Join the Adult Beginner's section of the forum and they will give great inspiration.

Best wishes for a happy piano life!

LL

PS, you have control of the title of your discussion. You might want to add AND ENDED UP WITH A BECHSTEIN!!!!

Thank you for educating me. This forum has been so helpful. It's very entertaining to read every posting and I am amazed how intelligent people in this forum are. Now I'm ready to move on to the Adult Beginner's section. Thank you all.
