Hi guys,

I recently found a very old Romeo and Juliet 2006 version, where Matt Rollings plays a wonderful intro. I tried to copy it, but with no luck. I figured out maybe first 2-3 chords, not more. It looks quite easy, but the more I try, the more I get confused.

Maybe there's someone on this forum who tried, either knows how to play it, or could share sheets of this short piece?
Thanks a lot.

I've left out the bars you've already figured out.

(best of luck with my scrawl)

....having already scanned it I now see that the penultimate note before the C chord should be the high C.

(does anyone have the definitive instructions for posting a pic directly into a post?)

That's wonderful dire tonic, thank You so much. Sounds almost identical, I only need to figure out few nuances as I'm not sure if I see some notes right wink

...yes, having just played this through, a couple of corrections:-

the first LH note should be a 1/16 not a 1/8.

last bar on the second line (3/4) first two RH notes should be D,F (not F,E!)

Sometimes for speed I'm a bit approximate on the line/space relying on context to play the correct note!

It's a really nice intro for this song. Wide intervals remind me of Bruce Hornsby-ish harmonies.

Happy to oblige - I like Matt Rollingsโ€™ playing so it was an enjoyable diversion for me too.

That's fantastic You got some pleasure out of doing it. I also think this intro is really nice and interesting, fits this song well and it's worth noting. That's good to see not only me appreciate it wink
I will take a look in a second to see what corrections you've made. Thanks!

p.s. When I tried to find out who was playing the piano at that concert, I searched through the comments a lot, and someone posted his name. I didn't have a clue who played with Knopfler at that time but knowing his name could give me a better chance of finding any tutorial. I searched through the net and I accidentaly came across AskMattRolilings series on Youtube where in one of the episodes he described how he created an intro to some other song. I felt I was closer...:) I even asked him in the comments and wrote him on messenger, but he didn't respond on the matter of that intro, he only replied that AMR series won't be revived and he's glad I like it. Always better than nothing :)) That's how I got here, my 5cents short story.
Still great to have people like You guys, who can help. Dire Tonic - I owe You a beer wink
