I'm sorry, but at least my Harvey knows which side his bread is buttered on!

Looks like Harvey’s complete name is Harvey Sauter? Does Simon have a musical last name?
It's difficult to say, he seems to like Baldwin as well."Good taste Harvy!" 😕 🐕 🛷 🐶 🦮 🐕‍🦺 "Good dog Harvey!"

Haha! Yes. Hard to tell... Kannst er Deutsch?

Well, by crazy coincidence, we're going to pick up a puppy on Saturday. We tried for a number of years to adopt, but two of us have allergies--one daughter's are pretty severe--so we need a hypoallergenic dog, which limits what we can consider. They apparently tend to also be fluffy and cute, so they go fast, at least around here (according to the foster folks). Then Mrs. Retsacnal got sick, so we put it on hold, but have tried again lately to no avail.

Anyway, when I was a kid my mom bred Yorkshire terriers, so out of nostalgia I sort of wanted a Yorky. My youngest wanted a Shih Tzu. We're also ok with a mix, so they found some "Shorkie" puppies, and we're planning to pick up our new family member on Saturday.

It's been about a decade since we had a dog in the house. Are there any new advances in dog training best practices?

Yes they can be a distraction! My dog comes up and puts his head on my leg while I am practicing, just stares up with those cute doggie eyes. Somehow it always works, I stop and go throw the ball for him.

One of the weirdest stories I heard was about a German Shepherd that chewed on things. Apparently chewed through the legs of the owner's grand while he was away . . .

But that's my favorite kind of distraction! My puppy actually lays on the pedals sometimes and I just let her. lol She loves when I practice, she'll run through the house as soon as she hears the first notes to lay down behind me. But sometimes she wiggles her way on top of my feet and I just deal. I'll miss it someday!

Ours does, sort of. Mrs. Sh4nkly named him Broccoli, as in Sir Dana "Choppin' Broccoli" Carvey. He's 4 mos. now:

This is my piano room.
The piano is in the far corner.
For some reason, I am being prevented from reaching it.
Perhaps I'm being given a hint that it should be in better tune?

Very funny LOL.. My guys do that to me too. They know they have a captive audience when I'm at the piano.

I love the variety in Broccoli's coat patterns! Very interesting. (All the dogs shared look nice though.)

We're still working on name ideas our new pup.

He thanks you for the compliment. Known as "bluetick" coloring. Occasionally found in beagles like him and some other breeds.

His coat almost almost looks knitted and his big brown eyes,
I wish I could hug him.I bet he loves listening to you play your Seiler MrSh4nkly.What's is his favorite piece?

So exciting, have you got him his bed, food/water bowl etc? I remember when ours arrived I forgot to buy his bed or a few blankets, -- his food as well! ?😲That evening he shared our supper, and he slept in an improvised bed of old coats and sweaters. It was winter and he has short hair.It all turned out well and he is still a joy to us.Even though he is older now, he still has his mischievous personality.

My piano's voice is my voice to God and the great unknown universe, and to those I love.
In other words a hymn. That is all, but that is enough. tre corda

We actually went out this evening to stock up on all sorts of things tonight.
My girls have wanted to take charge with it all, but they drug me along tonight.
