Hi,

I’ve never bought a piano before. I found a CN39 out of state. Should I order it? How much of a chance it will arrive damaged, then the shenanigans once that happens. Would you do it giving the market condition right now?

I appreciate your opinions

What state? US State? Be more specific, this is an international community -_-

I'd say that the probability of damage is mostly unrelated to the length of shipping. Damage is most likely to happen during loading or unloading, not on the road.

Warranty - if you are from the US, look up the terms of warranty here: https://kawaius.com/technical-support-division/warranty-repairs/

Personally I'd get a CA79 - because that's what I did. But I'm not you and my crystal ball is broken so I have no idea what your needs, budget and options look like.

What I can say for sure is that a CN39 is easier to practice on than the piano you don't have.

It’s going to be shipped from 2000 miles away in the United States.
The CA79 was offered as well, and I would love it very much, but it’s out of my budget. The CN39 plus shipping and tax is stretching my budget as much as I can

If it's still in the original box I would not be concerned. After all, it had to come from Japan to the USA in that same box. That's like 5,500 miles.

Is this a new piano or used? f you buy it from a reputable dealer they'll help you if there's a problem. If you buy from a strictly e-commerce site you could be on your own if there's a problem. Isn't there a Kawai dealer near you that you can buy from?

I would be very careful to understand the return and shipping damage policies from the seller, because your local dealer would probably do nothing to support you in the event of a problem (since you avoided them). Also I would read the warranty to know whether you’re responsible for return shipping costs in case a warranty problem arises, since that could be prohibitively expensive.

Since I bought mine from the local authorized dealer, I can just drop it at their store, if there’s a problem.

This is from an authorized dealer, also reputable. I cannot find it anywhere where I live either the CN39/CA59.
