Happy New Year!

I would love to see predecessors to the Yamaha CP300 and the N2.

Uninterestingly I'm not looking forward to anything.

As for expecting: Maybe some new Casio PX and AP models.

A wild prediction: A Chinese digital piano that people here agree is "decent" or "good".

Where Kawai Yamaha Roland others provide an easy way to import voices from PianoTeq and others. I know these sound better if through a computer, but it would be easier to have them natively. One I would like to see is the "Toy Piano" one. Just a fun little voice that adults and children love.

I'm not in the market for anything, but always love looking and speculating.

Also, I agree with johanibraaten. I would love to see Yamaha upgrade their iconic CP300. What a workhorse! I thought they might have considered doing that with the CP4 years ago, creating a CP400 with the CP300's generous 30W x 2 speakers. But might not be a big enough market for such a beast like that any longer. On-board speakers seem to be getting smaller in size and wattage yet still producing somewhat decent powerful-like sound without being a 72lbs slab.

Some other interesting updates IMO would be; Casio PX-5S, Kawai MP7SE, VPC1, and maybe Yamaha P125 with CFX and Bösendorfer samples.

Regardless, We still might have to wait until NAMM, June 3-5 2022, and see if any new big-ticket DPs will be showcased. It still seems like we are still experiencing some repercussions of the COVID setback for production as well as a transportation backlog. Hopefully, the R&D departments are full steam ahead!

I'm looking forward to the ones that are already in production actually being available.

Kawai ES110, the next generation with improved samples and better speakers. But don't change the action!

The successor of the ES110 will highly likely get the Responsive Hammer Compact II action from the KDP120, everything else would be a huge surprise.

In view of the large delays, does the announcement of new pianos (successors) not pose a risk of cancelling orders made?

Yes. Companies like Yamaha play their new product announcements and development extremely close to the vest. Even with some of my corporate connections, well beyond the retail level, I have been fed information that turned out to be either false or not given a "heads up" within days of a huge product update, where I would have loved to have by-appointment access to review a new piece of gear.
