Say, does anyone have any tips on how to approach Measure 23 (between poco rall. molto espresso and the a tempo) and its weirdly complicated rhythms? Seems like I would need at least three hands for it.

Tony, you could ask these questions in the ABF which is misnamed. It is not for adult 'beginners' but fellow adult students and quite a few know quite a bit.
The teacher forum is largely for teachers to discuss teaching matters. You may get more ideas in the ABF itself.

The rhythm is 2:3 and then 4:3.

I assume you're used to playing 2:3 and 3:2. 4:3 just needs to be further subdivided and practiced slowly.

BTW, the two E# (RH & LH) sound together.

The first thing I would say is take your time. This piece needs great fluidity and you can spend a lot of time trying out different ways to shape different passages.

Granados himself recorded this piece on player piano. You can hear it here:

He plays the whole piece with an enormous amount of rhythmic freedom, and in the bar you mention he does not play the 3 against 4 as written.

Thanks. I find this website rather hard to navigate, but perhaps it's just a question of time.
