Hi!

After trying out VPC-1 I'm about to pull the trigger on a MP11se.

Buut after having read lot on this forum the slip tape issue seems worrisome.

Is buying the mp11 simply I'll adviced at this point? And it would be better to wait for a successor?

The life expectancy seems to be around 5 years or shorter with frequent use before the slip tape issue sets in? Which seems a bit short...

Not everyone has this issue. And even if it kicks in, it's not complicated to fix that.

I personally had that same issue with my CA97..

I'd definetely wait for a successor if I was you, looks like the GF3 has solved it, it would be cool to see a slab with that action.

Regards,
David

You might be waiting a long time. I’d been waiting about a year and then just decided to get it. Was also happy to have something that didn’t use the irksome touchscreen interface too (which an updated version may well include, though would seem a daft choice for a stage piano).

If the replacement MP12 comes with the most recent GF3 action then, yes, that will avoid the sticky pad issue of earlier designs.
Likewise if they ever released a VPC2 with this GF3 action, that also would be a viable solution (and preferably might include a built-in USB audio interface and headphone preamp too.)

However, waiting for Kawai to release these products is like waiting for an oak tree to grow...
