Hi,
After waiting for few months to get Yamaha P515 from Sweetwater I called Kraft Music and ask them when they will have it available. Same answer "in December". However, the salesperson told me they have one with small cosmetic damage at a discounted price of ~$1140 (usually, it is ~$1600). Here is a link to the listing on Reverb:

https://reverb.com/item/45293219-yamaha-p-515-digital-piano-white-snr-1096

It does have a scratch on top but otherwise, it is a new digital piano (has not been used before). I ordered and I felt it was a good price. Now, I'm wondering if I got a good deal. I think I did. I don't know how I would feel when I get it but on the other hand, I did not want to wait for 2+ months to get one in pristine condition. Tomorrow is my birthday and this is my birthday gift me. What do you think did I got a good deal?

Thank you,
Nikola

Was it sold as new, i.e., a room unit (thus the cosmetic damage) or a second hand one? If the former, you still have the full warranty from the manufacturer.

I think it is sold as used due to the damage but it was not used and they do give 45 day warranty and free return if something is not working.

Yes, they said that is the only thing and that it works. Also they give 45 day warranty and I can return it if there is any issue for free.

The 45 day warranty is highly suspicious, and definitely makes no sense for a "new" unit. It is a risky move to get it in my opinion.

The company, Kraft Music, is very well respected and has outstanding reviews. That's why I trust them.

That is a good deal, especially as the P515 has been difficult to find for over a year.

I don't recall seeing many warranty issues with that Yamaha in the forums so the 45-day warranty wouldn't bother me. Also, the P515 has been around a while so production should be optimised by now. I purchased some slabs from Kraft and had no issues; Kraft has a good reputation IMHO.

Big box stores often sell scratch and dent appliances without a warranty; that is a dirty secret to beware of as appliance repair costs are outrageous.

I did not know that. Good to know. It's good I'm good at repairing things (sewing machines, phones, laptops, and digital pianos)

So you trust Kraft that claims that they cover your instrument for 45 days. I trust them that will do it too.
But do you have trust that you wont need the warranty after the 45 days have passed? I would never buy a new product without warranty, but its your money=your call.

I got my P515 from Kraft, but it didn’t have the cosmetic defect and it was a good deal more expensive than what you paid. It’s a great portable digital piano and it sounds like you got an excellent deal. The cosmetic defect looks pretty minor from the picture. I got mine with the wooden stand made for it by Yamaha but it will work with other stands too. It comes with a really good pedal, not the little plastic thing that some digitals come with. It is also compatible with a 3 pedal unit. Good luck.

Per the listing, It was not being sold as ‘new’ therefore the 45 day warranty.

If you don't have trouble with this essentially new item in 45 days, you'll be fine imo.
Even as a shop secon-ander, it's a decent price.
Worry no more! It is to play music on. Enjoy!

I received the Yamaha P515 and it is great. Aside from the scratch on top, it works perfectly. Very satisfied with my purchase.
