I thought that about the KDP 120. Sounded OK (just ok) but the key action whilst being light, was to me unpreferable to that of the little ES

Well, es110 was released in january 2017 (designed in 2015-2016). It is time to upgrade the piano. I mean, would you buy a car from 2017? I don't think so. As I started to research about digital pianos (also owning a Roland fp-30 piano) I have noticed that big brands don't really care about the costumers, especially Roland. SO I would definitely buy a versatile es110 than a flawed fp-30. Yamaha p125 seems cool. The same with es120 vs fp30X... especially if you will compare them. eek

This is my personal opinion. Everyone experiences different things with digital pianos.

I would like the new Kawai es120 to have Better External Speakers, new interface and maybe some "ivory feel" keys. Don't you think this could be a cool upgrade?

Ivory keys would be nice during the dry fingers weather.

It is October 2021, still not heard anything about Kawai ES120. Hmmmm... Why did they release the ES520 / ES920 ?

The wonders of the time zones! 🌍

It's already Friday in some places on Earth. That's a comforting thought.

It's still Thursday at the dateline.

I thought today was Monday, but if you say ‘it’s Friday’ who am I to disagree.

For the record, I’m on Martian time, and if you wonder why? Well, I’ve already started acclimating my body for Mars, and it helps to start living by their time.

I also walk around with weights hanging from my body, and I am working on gaining a few more pounds of body-fat so as to better deal with Mars’ weaker gravity. I figured that reaching 500 earth-pounds would make me a lean 190 Mars-pounds (I did the math); I suggest y’all start preparing for this reality.

It’s not so difficult, adding a few hundred pounds; I recommend binging on “Game of Thrones” for days at a time whilst eating tons of fries, hotdogs, and burgers.

It's not a straight line. It has been Friday for a while already e.g. on Christmas Island. 🎅🎄🎁

If you need a good, relatively inexpensive piano, buy the ES110, because it exists. If you don't need a good, inexpensive piano, then don't worry about a piano that doesn't exist. But ESPECIALLY don't waste years of your life with a lousy piano or no piano at all because you have a fear that a new piano, with a ten digit higher serial number, might exist at some indefinite time in the future.

And thus, drop by tiny, utterly welcome drop, common sense trickles back into our lives. Well said, @ColoRodney!

🙂 👏 🥳

Cheers and happy playing,

I had a couple o' Cumberland sausages (supermarket's best) wi fried tomatoes and fried egg for a snack lunch.

CONCLUSION:
The new KAWAI ES-120 should improve the following:
- 256 voice polyphony
- better speakers (a grill on top would be nice - to have better front sound)
- USB adaptor
- a few other sounds would be nice
- nothing to change about the keys and action
- and to be delivered this year, until Christmas.

For some of you who like time travel, you could make yourself useful and find out what Kawai will be releasing in the future. Because there is no point of releasing the ES520 and ES920 without having plans with the low-budget es-110.

ES520, ES920.. hmm... they might try to take this opportunity to fix the naming scheme. So probably next should be ES220 for the ES110, yeah? smile

Better still if someone saw sense and designated it as ES111 . . .

Well, it seems that now (November 2021) there is a real microchip / electronic parts shortage all over Europe. There is also a shortage for the ES920 / ES520. No wonder you really cannot find this piano anywhere. I am not sure that there will be an upgrade soon for the ES-110. Which is nasty. Roland is in the same situation because no one buys the new X series. So sad.
