I have one purchased from Wally Brooks many years ago. The only issue with that is that it does not automatically self center and you must manually adjust as you go. A few other tweaks need to be done manually but if you always bore the same make and style of hammer very little must be done. It is quite simple but accurate. I no longer bore my own hammers. I give the specs to my hammer maker and he does it quite well. I also have numerous sizes of bits dedicated to hammer boring.

Hi Peter!

Thanks for the reply. I had my sights set on the Renner but have not seen the Wally Brooks model. Do you have a pic you can PM me?

I have the Renner jig. Not for sale, sorry. I bought it from Dana Mazzaglia who made them for Renner and the centering issue is because it works for Renner hammers.
The solution to centering for other hammers - for me anyway- is to choose the narrowest hammer in the set and machine them all to that width then it works. One shim may be necessary.

Actually, if you take the time, making a hammer boring jig is not difficult.
