Hi all,

It seems lots of you, when an instrument needs Kontakt (full version) to run, immediately go away...

I got it as part of a Komplete bundle and it opened the path to quite a lot of new instruments to me, so for me it was worth its cost.

Now it is on offer at 50% discount:

NI Kontakt 6

Just FYI.

The full version opens up a whole world of freebie libraries that won't work under the Kontakt Free version.

Been wondering if I should get Kontakt 6. I have Kontakt 5, but it may be nearing it's EOL (end of life). Still, haven't had a new Kontakt library in many years, and the old ones work fine on Kontakt 5, so I probably don't have any need for it.

I got the free version of Soniccouture Hammersmith, which requires Kontakt 6, but the full version is not needed. I found out Kontakt 6 player and Kontakt 5 full, could live side by side without problems.

Unfortunately, I have not found any good sounding pianos that I get with the full version.
That's why I bought the Bechstein Digital.
I didn't want another Steinway D or CFX etc.
The Bechstein from Pianoteq is quite good, but something always bothers me about the Pianoteq pianos.

MacMacMac, laugh

Klausi6, there have never been high quality pianos included in Kontakt. In Komplete, maybe, not Kontakt. That said, the Grand Piano of Kontakt 5, is not horrible. Sometimes I've mixed with other (better, bigger) piano VSTs.

I wouldn't use it on a regular basis in practice, but for scetching out ideas for a piano part, or testing how some short phrase sounds when played, it's perfectly fine for that.
