Schimmel Professional Upright for sale

City: Clifton Park
State: New York
Zip Code: 12065
Country: USA

Seller’s piano forum name: terminaldegree

Piano Brand: Schimmel
Model: 130T
Serial Number: 339100
Size: 51”
Asking Price: $9,800
Style: Traditional
Type: Upright
Finish: Polished Ebony

Description:
I am selling my 51” Schimmel model 130 vertical piano. Made in Germany in 2001, purchased new in 2006, full Renner action, original owner. Freshly tuned, cleaned internally, regulation and voicing just touched up and optimized. Includes a padded adjustable bench, professionally installed humidity control system, and other extras.

Excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically with a distinct European sound—excellent clarity, power, and sustain from top to bottom—that outperforms grand pianos, twice the price. Practice pedal works well for late-night sessions or apartment dwellers. Inspection prior to sale by a qualified piano technician is welcomed, and additional photos of the bridges, strings, soundboard available upon request.

This is a low-use 2nd piano for a professional classical pianist, tuner, and piano review editor for the leading piano industry publication in America, selected after a multi-city search of at least a dozen instruments. It has been housed for the past 8 years at my in-laws home, where it only gets played 1-2 weeks per year (which is why I’ve put it up for sale). A spectacular high-end upright piano for less than half the street price for a brand new Schimmel of the same size and model.

Located in Clifton Park, NY (just north of Albany, about 150 miles from NYC). Price is firm, not interested in trades or consignment. See this link for product and current pricing information:

Thanks for posting this, Frank!
(I mistyped the price, it’s actually $9,800 and not 9.800)

I really enjoyed the 130's from that time. That is a nice piano - and a very fair asking price. It ought to sell quickly!

My piano's voice is my voice to God and the great unknown universe, and to those I love.
In other words a hymn. That is all, but that is enough. tre corda

Thanks for your support! The piano is still for sale as of this posting. So far, one store has tried to make a lowball offer to buy it sight-unseen, and a private individual has come to see it, as a possible gift to their adult son (and future grandchildren), but it's been a few days. Will see if I can keep my streak going - was able to sell my previous Shigeru Kawai in 3 weeks, the Bechstein A190 I had before that sold just a couple days after deciding to put it up for sale, and my digital piano in less than a week after it hit craigslist. The only piano I've ever had trouble selling was my Bluthner digital, so far, but that's sort of an unusual item. I try to keep my pianos in really good shape, so whomever ends up with it next will have a very nice piano that will last a good, long time.
