No doubt - a beginner piece or at least a beginner arrangement. And others are much more sophisticated with having chords, sometimes sevenths, but still the same piece. What version should I go for?

For as far back as I can remember, it's seemed to me that there were three levels of "Beginner": early, middle, and late. I don't know from where I got that subdivision, but it still makes sense to me. After all, an absolute beginner in the literal sense of the word is just learning how to read music and translate that to the keyboard. But the late beginner stage is just before becoming "Intermediate", which is pretty far along in skill. The Clementi sonatinas are "late beginner" to me, and they require a certain amount of facility.

But, as Sam says, you get to decide what it means, for you.

So I will add to this one too. Found old books when cleaning my parents house since they are moving. Mozart and homework I got when I was very young and sort of just started with piano. Seem to fit in here?

I wasn't feeling the love for the Christopher Norton pieces, so I switched to William Gillock. He is described on the Hal Leonard site as "the Schubert of Children's Music". They still have hundreds of books in their catalog of his pieces. In my opinion his compositions are pretty dated (he was born in 1917, died in 1993). Anyway, I found a couple of books of his music, and my plan is to set aside a day or two to record something. Some of them are interesting - he definitely has an eclectic style. There is quite a variety from piece to piece.

I am on track to open the recital for submissions at 6AM tomorrow morning (Eastern US time). About 11 hours from the time of this post.

I am looking forward to recording some pieces for this one. Nice to have an excuse to play some easier music!
