Is the ES110 still worth it for $700 or are there better competitors now? I heard there were a few sales awhile back on this model? Is there likely to be one anytime soon? Also, when is an update of this model likely, ES120?

I'll say relative to the low cost competitors out there the 110 is still worth it and I have no idea when the 120 may come out.

Still worth it for a good set of basic piano features + traditional MIDI DIN ports, which are disappearing at this price level. The main "upgrade" feature on the newer competing keyboards is audio and MIDI over USB (at the expense of MIDI DIN). Personally, I'd wait for sale to drop the price a bit, my sense is there are still a lot of ES110s in-stock.

IMHO the EX sound patch used in the ES110 is better sounding (more clean, more dynamic) than the SK-EX one used in the KDP-110/120 (the cabinet versions of the ES110), so personally I would prefer the current ES110 rather than an hypothetical ES120 with just the SK-EX piano sound. But if the ES120 had both the EX and SK-EX then it would be another story... But then it would be a direct competitor of the ES520, so I don't think an ES120 would have both the piano patches!

Stick with the ES-110

But does the es110 have key sympathetic resonance?

The part jps talks about and then doesn’t try out on each keyboard?

Personally if shopping in this price range I would want to try the Yamaha, Kawai, Roland, and Korg offerings.

And Casio.

I played the Korg d1 the other day and it is a pretty decent action.

Doesn't seem like the audio over USB is working too well yet; the good old "audio in" needs to be there still.

It seems like it is working fine to me.

Hello, just got the ES110 here. When pressing the middle plastic frame, is it supposed to move towards the keys at all?

Yes, I believe that's normal for the ES110.

Kind regards,
James

If you need a piano now, and you like the ES110, buy one. If you don’t need a piano for a year or three, you could wait for an ES120, but no one knows how long that will be. But you can get an ES110 today, and spend that time playing on it.

Hey, my speakers developed a buzzing/static noise in the left speaker with specific keys (more pronounced in person)? https://imgur.com/GrzYMzN
