Hello,
I'm contemplating buying a 4 foot 8 Ritmuller Baby Grande for 5000. It is a 2008. I have no idea if this is a reasonable price or not...I'm going to try it out on Wednesday, but assuming the condition is good, is this a good buy? Is it crazy to buy a baby grand under 5 feet?
Thanks so much,
Andrea

If it's the Ritmüller GH-148R, which is actually 4'10", then it's a staff pick on Piano Buyer. smile

4 ft 8 inches is really small for a grand piano. I’d advise you to find a piano that’s 5’ 6” or longer if you want a grand that plays like a grand. Otherwise consider a studio upright 48 to 53 inches tall. Best Wishes on your search. Welcome to Piano World!

Thank you both for your advice! I don't think this one is a GH-148, the owner said "GP148R1"...which I was able to find very little about online.
I just started looking at uprights...all I care about is sound and feel (the look doesn't matter so much) so perhaps an upright of higher quality is the better way to go given my budget limitations.
Thanks again, and thank you for the welcome to this forum!

The grand piano under 5' is only a recent development and is more of a novelty if you are extremely limited on space. If you're serious at all about music, you must go at least 5'. Otherwise you won't be happy.
