I am almost finished with this book and find it quite enjoyable. But I have not been able to figure out it most of the stories in it are mostly made up, partially made up, a combination of individual stories, or almost completely based on the actual personal experiences of the former Julliard student who wrote the book. There are numerous quoted conversations in the book, and it seems unlikely to me that the author heard all of them. Does anyone know about this?

The title of the thread seems to have been chopped off and it's too late for me to change. The full title is:
Nothing but the best: The struggle for perfection at The Juilliard School.
