I think the pianos used in these two video clips are Kawai RX and Yamaha CX.

Which sound do you prefer?

difference in recording, difference in eq, difference in playing style.

I like whichever piano has less piercing treble. grin

The higher density of notes in the second recording has more muddy areas. The first one is more clear, but it also has a bit of a raspy treble. tssssss.... .

That Yamaha is so 'bell' like which dont seem like CX series to me. C1X series are warmer to my ears.
That said, if compared the videos alone, i prefer the Kawai.

Below is CX vs GX:

GX is slightly longer. Both are beautiful in their own way. The comments have timeline to a straight comparison.

My vote goes to Kawai again~

All this, plus it's not the same piece at all, just the same tune. The second one starts an octave higher and is a very different arrangement from the first.

Also, the two pianos seem to be completely different sizes. You can see that the Kawai is definitely a small piano, but I am pretty sure the Yamaha is a larger one.

The Kawai has a nicer treble, but I think the Yamaha blends and balances the different registers better. The Kawai has a nasal aspect in the tenor region that I have never adjusted to in any Kawai I've played.

I definitely the recording of the Kawai to the Yamaha, but that may not have anything to do with the pianos themselves. You really need to find a proper comparison that at least records the two pianos in the same manner.

It is not music very well suited to assessing the most important aspects of piano tone.
