Geez people stop trying to analyze so much USE YOUR IMAGINATION - you did all your testing (hypothetically) and you liked both pianos the same - they both FELT and SOUNDED, like the one!
So which would you choose on what you know about the pianos? (You already did your test drives, numerous times and you are down to these two) No Finances, No Space involved
STOP Analyzing and play the game. I have to say, sometimes it's really difficult to even get a 'simple straight answer' out of individuals on the forum. that can be very disconcerting & confusing for people who are searching for reliable info, even as simple as it is.

So basically you are asking us to pick something based on no knowledge but on our general perceptions and prejudices, sort of an estimation of the effectiveness of the various companies marketing strategies dressed up as a game? Not a game I want to play really.

That is exactly why I skipped #1-5; my decisions would have been purely 100% bias and prejudice, for sure.

You will need to PM them (the admins in charge of this area are listed on the Forums page). I once wanted a thread removed and asked in-thread, but it sat for years. As soon as I PM'd them, it was gone in minutes.
I would love any of those pianos. They're all magnificent instruments.

Most of the pairings I don't have an opinion on, but I would surely pick the Mason & Hamlins over the Steinways, and for one specific reason: I have heard enough recordings done on Steinways to last me several lifetimes, whereas M&H is rarely heard (here in Northern Europe M&H is a mental concept rather than a real thing). The few recordings I have heard done with M&H were distinctly warm and pleasant however, so I am sympathetic to the brand.
