Yes, the voicing did fix the metallic notes but some of them were really bad and would return. Eventually he said that he had needled the felt to the limit and any more would kill the hammer and cause permanent damage. The harsh notes combined with sluggish touch from a worn action is why I've decided to invest in a new action and hammers this year. By the way, voicing is an art and not all techs can do it well.

I hope you're able to enjoy your piano and not fixate on this note! Just play it, more things may show up or might even resolve themselves as you fix the humidity issue. You got the best piano available to you and it's lovely. Is there a closer technician that you would trust to look at the piano after it's settled in?

The metallic sound note is not very serious at the moment. This is piano has least problem including brand new Kawai GX2,6. There are very limited options in my area and I am thinking to replace hammers to Abel ones and hammer shank&flenge in 5 years if it worth to do that. I heard many good things about that.
