https://www.worldpianonews.com/advertising/jet-tv-piano-ad/

I actually didn't like the ad much but I thought others might enjoy it. The information nearer the end of the article about how the ad was made I found more interesting.

There aren't many ads featuring a piano but my favorite is this one that I guess many of you have seen:

I like the Glad Bag commercial you linked above.

To the article's question, no, I don't think the ad they featured is the best ever. But, frankly, I didn't even know that there was a "'piano-in-ad' genre," but then I don't watch much TV.

I enjoyed the "making the Jet TV ad" more than the ad. wink I was surprised that there was no green screen, because while watching it I assumed that it was. Show's how much I know.

I was hoping for the piano to just float through the window.

The only one I can think of is the Pantene advert that Myleene Klass did in the UK featuring a piano/orchestral arrangement of 'Aerodynamic' by Daft Punk.

For years, I've been trying to work out what the piano is that she's playing but I'm not sure. From the case design I wondered if it might be a Petrof but there is a very brief snapshot around the 14 second mark of the fallboard with part of a written logo name however, it doesn't show the entire name and it's difficult to decipher (not least because of the 10+ year old video quality...).

I'm open to suggestions on the piano brand!

To me, it looks like a Bohemia concert grand (at 0:14, there's a brand on the fallboard)

D'accord! I think you might be right!

Earlier I was trying to remember one of the Petrof subsidiaries that was mentioned in a recent thread related to a composer or conductor with a linked video, and everyone was trying to figure out the piano brand which also had Petrof styled casework. Anyway, couldn't remember anything, not the brand, nor the maestro.

That was a video featuring Ricardo Muti (I'm sure) playing Schubert (I think).

Interesting! Bohemia is not a brand I'm familiar with whatsoever. I just tried doing a quick Google search and couldn't even find a website... are they even made anymore? What is their quality like?

Oh gosh...I feel so bad about the Glad ad....that poor grand just get destroyed!!!
In general I hate to see anything really get destroyed or wasted for no reason in the movie/ad . frown

The 2nd ad is much better!

Take heart fibbi- I don’t think they destroyed a real grand piano for the Glad commercial. Just props and PhotoShop for Video.
The only thing I could think of is the Harrods Elton John commercial.

That's it! With the name I could find the thread. I'm not sure that it was ever determined what kind of piano it was in that thread. https://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthr...t-the-piano-guesses-as-to-what-kind.html

I like the Glad ad. Ads with pianos are often overly sentimental, and it's nice to see something funny.

thumb

The sentimental ones do tug on the heart strings though, which can be nice in its own way. smile

More senseless destruction:

Maybe there should be the disclaimer on these commercials, “No pianos were harmed in this commercial.” wink
