The piano now has stopped playing through the internal speakers, though it works fine on Headphones. Has anyone experienced this issue? I realise that the headphone jack disconnects the internal speakers. Is it likely that the jack socket has developed a problem? Are there any other possible causes. This piano does not have a speaker switch on the back panel (or anywhere else as far as I can see). Grateful for any pointers.

I've asked the Moderators to move this to the 'Digital Pianos and Synths" forum.

This "Piano Tuners / Technicians" forum is for acoustic piano technical questions.

When you plug in a headphone, it pushes a little fin aside and that disconnects the speakers. If that little fin fails to return to its original location when you remove the headphone, then the speakers won't re-activate.

You could try working the plug in and out and around a few times and see if that fin will snap back into place, or disassemble it to see what's really going on.

Hello,

Here's another thought:

Many digital piano's, Roland models included, have a key combination to switch the speakers on or off in combination with headphone use. Often times this has the form of pressing and holding a 'function' or 'piano' button and pressing a white or black key somewhere in the highest octaves. This is additional to the mechanical switch in the headphone jack socket. The exact button/key combination to use should be in the manual if it is available.

This function may hopefully bring back your speaker sound, while in the mean time the headphone jack socket may still need investigation and repair/replacement.

Good luck!

Cheers,

HZ

Factory reset?

1. While holding down the [SONG] button and [METRONOME] button, hold down the C8 key for approximately five seconds.

Is there sound out of the line out?
