Fascinating article in the NY Times, based on an interview with Grosvenor, containing short excerpts from the Liszt sonata played by a variety of pianists. The variations in interpretation are amazing.

Thanks for sharing! A great read. Grovesnor is one of my up and coming pianists to collect. It's great that he (along with Igor Levit) studies past performances of others to glean an understanding of where they want to go. The Horowitz recording has always been the touchstone. I look forward to Benjamin's take on this formidable piece, probably Lizst's single greatest contribution to the repertoire.
