I consider purchasing a Kawai GE-30 AT grand piano from 2003. It comes with a faulty Anytime silent system (very early mechanical version). According to Kawai it can neither be repaired, nor replaced or upgraded. I generally do not mind too much since I do not necessarily need it.

However, is there any disadvantage in buying an instrument with such an outdated technology in regards of future repairs or maintenance of the action?

Thank you for your comments!

I'm not sure what your concern is. If the silent system is faulty, and you don't mind that it doesn't work, then I don't really see a problem.
As far as I know, the "outdated technology" is the silent system, but the rest of the action is pretty standard.
