You could have easily fit bunk beds on top and been perfectly happy, LOL!! 😂😂😂

Lisa, congrats on the piano! I’m not sure what rock I’ve been under that I didn’t see this until now. Best wishes for many years of musical bliss!

Craig!!! ❤️❤️❤️ I’m so glad to see you!! I’m terrible with FB and always end up deactivating my accounts, LOL, it annoys me, especially with all the politics on there. Sorry we lost touch, my friend! The forums here are better for me, everyone at least has piano in common, LOL! 😊

I know this is inconsequential, but now that I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks, I have to say that the benches that come with the Cunningham grands are absolutely wonderful! They are SO comfortable, a bit softer than my Jensen bench, and it doesn’t weigh a million pounds, LOL. I love it, Cunningham should be selling these outright, they are so good!

Also wanted to mention that the piano is still in perfect tune, and sounds as good as the day it was delivered! I know new pianos need time to settle in and the strings to stretch. My new Kawai upright, from 3 years ago, needed a touch up tuning 2 weeks after it was delivered. It took the piano over a year to become stable in its tuning. So far the Cunningham hasn’t budged. I’m really surprised and pretty thrilled about this LOL! I’m sure eventually I’ll have to get it tuned, but right now it’s absolutely perfect.

Just wanted to check in! 😊👍

Sounds great, Lisa! The comfortable, adjustable bench is a good thing and the stable tuning two week in is even better! smile

Congratulations again!

To be clear for anyone finding this thread later, is your bench one that the DEALER provided, or one that ACTUALLY came with the piano? Then again, I think you got your piano from a Cunningham dealer, so maybe my question is moot? Are there other Cunningham dealers around the country?

When I got my Walter, for example, the dealer never orders benches from Walter because they are just plain, flat, wooden benches, so my dealer offers different benches with the pianos instead. The Seiler I have waiting for me comes with a matching bench, but it's awful. I will take it as it "matches", but if it is a real pain in the rear (or in my case a pain in the back), I will find an alternative, even if it doesn't match.

Hello SonatainfSharp,

I am not Lisa, but I might know a thing or two about the Matchless Cunningham piano. The bench that Lisa got is the standard bench for Cunningham grand pianos. Of course, if a customer has a desire for another style of bench, etc. we are happy to help when they buy directly from us in Philadelphia. If they buy from a dealer, they would have to work that out with their dealer.

Excellent! Thanks!

I forgot to mention this. We did not design the Matchless Cunningham to offer it to other dealers. The fact that we have dealers is just a result of knowing people in the business who appreciate our pianos.

Currently we have dealers in Rhode Island, Southern California, and Arizona. If anyone would like a referral, please PM me. Also, here is a site for more information: www.matchlesscunningham.com.

You guys have a winner, it is SO good!! I’ve had a Concerto II, benches made by CPS, and a Jensen. This is hands down my favorite. Of course, so is the piano, LOL!

2 week delivery anniversary today and it’s in perfect tune, has not budged! I’ve been playing about 2 hours a day, we’ve really bonded. What a great experience! ❤️❤️❤️

Re. the bench, I've been intrigued by the color combo.

Is that black leather, or something like a dark gray? It complements the piano finish nicely.

Holy Cow!!!!!!!!!!!

Last week when I commented to the effect that you were ok, you had just lost your "awai", I was referring to your forum name change! I had no idea you were just completing a piano change that involved passing along your Kawai upright to its next loving owner. I hope you weren't offended, and, that my comment didn't raise any mournful feelings for your upright.

It seems you are very happy with the Cunningham, as you should be. I've never heard of anyone being unhappy with theirs. And, Rich seems like a world class guy, running a world class operation, that sells world class pianos.

I think you've made all the right moves! Congratulations on your new piano! smile

It is black, Retsacnal. I see what you are seeing though. We might be seeing a reflection of some kind??
