Hi,

Just for fun what is the biggest single chord youve come across without rolling?

this one does it for me

https://youtu.be/r3cxRbi-Ik0

makes the big chord at the end of traumerei seem easy or the opening of the rach 2, if you dont believe me try it!

E G C E G all in the right hand.

Thanks!

"Big" could be interpreted as widest spread of notes OR largest number of notes.

Wasn’t the question of what ‘big’ meant clarified by the example in the post ? Widest spread.

This is probably not what you had in mind, but there is an unrolled chord consisting of 16 notes in Ives's Concord Sonata.

Check out The Tides of Manaunaun, or Tiger, among other pieces by Henry Cowell.

I don't think you can top the ending of P.D.Q. Bach's incomparable Trance and Dental Etudes.
