Quite a find! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed the "marching" left hand in the second variation, e.g.

I wonder who the pianist is? S/he is quite good.

Found another performance by David Buechner here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ApC9ziaH44

I am pretty sure the pianist is Sara Davis Buechner, but it is a shame such great playing is not credited.

Im so happy to see Sara's work up here. She is an extraordinary pianist with great heart. Quick story - She came to Shepherd University when I was there, and gave us a masterclass. I played Beethoven Op. 90 . She was passionate, helpful, and interesting. I just discovered this recording a few weeks ago myself, I believe its on Spotify.

Great find!

Her repertoire is vast. I've heard it suggested that she has the most extensive repertoire of anyone alive. I have no idea if that's true or not, but she has a phenomenal gift.

I think I heard Sara Davis Buechner play the Busoni version of Bach's Concerto in D minor a very long time ago with the Jupiter Symphony in NYC.

This was probably at least 30 years ago. I can't remember much except that I thought it was very good and I think she played a Yamaha.
