From his FaceBook page: "I am overjoyed to be awarded as the young artist of the year at ICMA Awards 2021. Quite lost for words and grateful beyond I can express it. A big thank you to all who has guided, helped, criticised and stood beside me. To name but a few here, BIS Records, Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, Güher & Süher Pekinel Young Musicians on World Stages with generous funding by Tüpraş and every of my teachers whom I had the privilege to learn from. Heartfelt congratulations to Drazen Domjanic for the special achievement award. Very proud to be a part of Internationale Musikakademie in Liechtenstein." Here is a short video Can posted about his fairly recent recording of the Schubert/Liszt Schwanengesang: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=329827431444044

Wow - Can has won awards from the ICMA two years in a row (last year it was the solo instrument award).

I love this!! Thank you for sharing the link to the Schwanengesang recording. What incredible musical sensibility- I was really moved by his presentation and the small bits he performed and I am so excited to hear the full album.

That's amazing, thank you for sharing. Congrats to Can!
For those that use Tidal I just found that the album is available there. Seems it would be nice to also have the physical version in this case.

It’s been so wonderful seeing his career blossom, and we are fortunate that he posts on Piano World, though understandably not as much as in the past.
I have his first recording - can’t wait to get the next one!

Here's another video on Can talking about the pandemic and playing the first movement of Bach's c minor Partita. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADlqEYTmfD0&feature=emb_rel_pause

Larry, thank you so much for finding and posting this. Really, much appreciated. I know that this place is “home” and I am very moved to see what you all have written. Unfortunately indeed I don’t post (or comment) as much as before or as much as I would like. I will soon come back with some chamber music recordings. Stay safe everybody and take good care.

I didn't know my first name was so unique. The usual nonsense from Chopinetto.

I was only trying to remedy what I thought was an accidental violation of your anonymity. Whether or not I was mistaken, your bitterness is totally unwarranted.

Can Congratulations to a well-deserved award! When the pandemic is over, I hope you will plan on a performance in the United States; I know there are many of us here that would love to hear you in concert.
In the interim, we’re proud of you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And will enjoy your playing from our living rooms.
