Hi all,

I grew up a very accomplished Suzuki student, but haven't seriously practiced technique since high school. I'm an intermediate player, popular pieces like K545 and Moonlight Sonata (I) are accessible. However, I kind of unfortunately fit the negative Suzuki stereotype and my weaknesses are anything that requires improv, sight reading on the fly, and now since getting older, even memorization. So all of that combined means it takes me quite some time to learn a new piece.

Anyone know any good sources for discussions/techniques/youtube/books for practicing skill improvements as an adult? Especially memorization, but everything else is welcome too. I have a K500 coming so I want to get serious about Piano again.

The best ones I've seen on YT are by Graham Fitch - he has several on many different topics.

Bach is in general good because it doesn't hurt fingers and you can find all difficulty levels and find that one you can still remember (even partially is ok), for example Anna Magdalena's notebook, two part inventions, three part inventions, english suite, WTC, Goldberg Variations.

I would also highly recommend John Mortensen of Cedarville Music
