I recently purchased a Yamaha-P125 and it's been great so far! The only issue I've noticed is that when I hold a key down and then play another key close it it, there's a strange high pitched, almost whisling, effect. Is this just from their sample of a grand piano or do you think it's a defect with the keyboard?

EDIT: I wonder if this is what I'm experiencing and it's just the simulation of a grand? https://www.reddit.com/r/piano/comm...d_is_developing_weird_aftertone/ej4buco/

Hard to say without actually a video/audio, but likely what you are hearing is the resonance modeling.

Audio file was attached above, I think you have to download it due to google drive not liking to play audio files via the browser

Some comments:

It's not a very clear recording. So, there's some lingering sound after a staccato note? Is it just reverb? It can be turned off.

I don't think we ever got a clear recording of a similar issue nor really came to any proper conclusion, but here's a related case: http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthre...aha-p-125-need-help-possible-issues.html

For others: There's a duplicate parallel discussion on another sub forum here: http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/3071385/yamaha-p-125-high-pitched-noise.html

I've tried turning off the reverb but to no avail, I'm thinking it's just part of the GP sample that was put onto the keyboard

I have a P121 (the 73 key version of the P125), and I'm unable to replicate what you describe.

I listened to it - but it is hard to make out from that audio file if/what the issue is.
