I was fortunate as a teen to travel to Pontevedra, in Spain, as a part of a United Nations project. Spain has a beautiful culture, beautiful people, and traditions. I also was privileged to dabble in these two works. The Valses Poeticos, by Granados. And 3 Danzas de Espanas by Rodrigo. Though admittedly, I have much more to learn about these and other Spanish composers, but this is a start. If you will, enlighten me with your favorite piano works from Spain.

All the great Spanish composers wrote works in this category. Some very easy technically and some incredibly difficult.

Albéniz's Suite Española has probably the best known Spanish tunes.......more often played on guitar, in fact (e.g. Asturias). Just go to Granada, Córdoba, or Sevilla, and you'll hear the strains of their namesakes on the streets, played by very accomplished guitarists for the benefit of tourists.

And Granados's Goyescas is a huge suite, as Spanish as they come:

I am a huge fan of Mompou! I am presently learning "Asturias" by Albeniz. It is an amazing piece of music. Spanish Classical music is very special to me, having heard it as I grew up and also play it.

Nin-Culmell:- Tonadas. There are 48 of them, in four volumes - all quite short and charming

Here is Vol. 2 - 24. Muñerra

And over in ABF's Female Composer's Recital that just went online a few days ago, entry #11 is a group of four pieces by Elisenda Fabregas, played by dumka1.
