Today I walked into a piano store. 1 side has a few digital keyboards including a Korg Air G1 & Yamaha Clavinova. The other side has the acoustic pianos including a Yamaha U3 (Japan) with a silence lock for practice, Boston, Petrov (Czech Rep) & Salter (Germany). An acoustic you have hammers hitting strings so there is a bit of a bounce back when you press a key all the way down. The action on DPs you have something similar to a hammer hitting a nail. You don't get the same bouncing response. The sound of the DPs on display are quite close to the acoustics but the resonance (reverb) is not as noticeable after hitting a key.
The instruments I tried today (acoustics & DPs) the action are on the lighter side. The weighted key action is quite similar. I'm more used to the Yamaha Clavinova action since the room where my piano lessons were held a year ago has a few of them.

I am in the 22cm club. I think 22cm is really enough pivot.
I'm not against 22+, but I don't think they should inflate prices based on pivot size. More simply <22cm pivots shouldn't exist. The cost difference in production is negligible. It affects the budget buyers unfairly.

in this classical music period (Mozart), the DP can make the illusion because there is only little use of harmonic pedal. It could be very different with Romantic composers and after.
I still hear this Casio on the harsh side in the trebles, and rather inexistant in the left hand registers, compared to the grand Bechstein...
Should include people like Wakeman, Brooker, Booker, Fisher, Lord, Corea, Freeman, Rudess, Emerson, and so on, and so on, ... ... etc etc as having decades of concert experience and an opinion on this.
Not really. All were highly competent pianists but what they did easn't for the most part, exclusuively piano playing.

You're being a tad picky imo; sound systems can adjust for all the recording/YT shortfalls mentioned.. The collaboration between Bechstein and Casio is perhaps rather more than we all thought. The sweetness of tone makes for a complete instrument. Who'd want more? I use the Bechsteijn more and more in P'teq; a piano for all seasons! I shall have to look into this. . . .

Honestly, to me that Casio sounds boxy, darker than a Bosendorfer and has a less singing, more percussive tone, compared to the acoustic one.

Well, I don't know if actually it's the best you can pick in that price range... It would be nice to make a similar comparison where the same pianist plays with that Casio, then with a CA-99 and then with a Yamaha CLP-775.
