Hello
I have a CVP-105 from around 1999. Played fine till I moved house and since then had trouble with the volume so I suspect something got knocked during the move.

It does still sound out of its internal speakers but very quietly and the volume controls make no difference to either main or accompaniment.

At first turning it off and on again solved the issue but now that has stopped working. A connection loose perhaps?

I've tried the factory reset and that made no difference. Can't get a tech out during covid and it's hard to find one in my area anyhow!

Anyone have any clue what the problem might be and if it's something I could DIY? Works fine using aux out, btw, but through my guitar amp it sounds horrible!

Guess the good news is its not the internal amp or such forth. Might be faulty volume pot.
If you're not happy to pull the DP apart then maybe a cheap set of powered speakers to play through the aux until you can get it looked at properly.

You need a proper technician to look at the piano. Don't attempt it yourself.

OU812 has a good idea. See above.

Thanks both. I just saw a YouTube video about a clavinova with volume potentiometer issues and it seems like almost the exact set of symptoms I'm having so it looks like you hit the nail on the head!

But having seen how they fixed it, I couldn't agree more about leaving it to the professionals. I'm not risking anything with a circuit board.

I'll see if I can find some decent amps for now.

I've just plugged headphones in and realised something - the volume sliders work, it's just that the max volume = extremely quiet.

I'm still going to wait for a tech to look at it properly, but to quell my nervousness, does this still sound like something fixable?
