Hi
Just curious to know what anybody else's thoughts are on the quality of Garritans Sampler Player for the CFX Concert Grand. After purchase and installation i was surprised to see how they've provided consumers with an exceptional piano sample library, yet delivered it in such a standard sampler player.
The GUI and ergonomics are generic at best, most other piano sample library's come with much higher quality sample player's such as Native Instruments Steinway Vintage D, Vienna Symphonic Library's CFX, or Synthogys Ivory ll Grand Piano. Considering its one of the best sampled pianos out there coming from such a big name, Abbey Road Studios, its interesting to think why they've provided such a standard box to play it in?

You can always use another DAW to load the Garritan CFX Library. I'm fine with that. I don't like fiddling around with things like Kontakt or Avid Pro Tools.

Do you refer to the window we see here : https://usermanuals.garritan.com/CFXConcertGrand/Content/main_view.htmIt seems classical : 5 buttons which switch the display to a specific page, and then you can tweak different parameters. You also have a mixer at the right. I am not saying the product is perfect (there are some oddities : player perspective is made to be used with the « player » option and the binaural perspective with the « audience » option !) but the GUI seems quite correct.

My point was that the Sampler player is cheap and could have been improved.

I like the sample player and gui and find it both attractive and intuitive. I certainly prefer it to any interface for the Kontakt based pianos I've used (with the possible exception of Noire).

Very nice and friendly UI, compact with logical layout. Not sure what's cheap about it? I don't care at all, I just fire it up and play, I don't spend time with it for more than 30 seconds a day.

I think there maybe some confusion here regarding different sampler players? I was referring to the default sampler player that controls the settings for the CFX, not the ARIA Sampler engine which has a much better GUI and look.

Aha, yes I thought you were talking about aria player, which is all I know.
