Since her previous Fazioli, which she considered her "best friend" was inadvertenly destroyed by piano movers, Angela Hewitt has been bereft of a piano. Fazioli just delivered her replacement piano.
Here she is breaking it in with a splendid "Goldbergs":

A welcome respite from all the drama of the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol this week.

I listened to this a few days ago. Absolutely beautiful and amazing playing. And, the piano's sound is gorgeous as well.

Indeed it is! A lovely piano and a gorgeous, full, supple sound. Hewitt brings so much color and grace into her playing. Her hand crossings always mesmerizing. The final "Quodlibet" has such intricate voicings which she brings out, and she treats the tenor line as a kind of call and response to the other voicings. Move over Lang Lang, this is how it's done, lol!

I dont know other pianists who travel with their piano. It must be quite a hassle to organize that every time she has to play somewhere.

On a practical note it must eat into the profits. I will download this to watch in peace later. I am expecting a treat.

Just listening at 9mins 22 sec or so, that bass line, so delicate and even.... Uplifting and aspirational.

When Hewitt played in London (certainly for many years, and likely to this day before covid struck), she used a Fazioli F278 borrowed from Jaques Samuel: I've played on "her" Fazioli there several times.

I did a recording on , if memory serves, F666, which is used for concert and recording hires, but though it was extremely flattering in the shop, in the venue I was happier with the 'edge' of a Steinway and I've gone back to that....

I saw her play the Goldbergs live in New York a few years ago. It was one of the most memorable concerts of my life. This recording is a reminder of my old life.

I instantly burst into tears. Ugh. Why does that happen sometimes? Such a pure sound.

She doesnt always travel with her personal piano. The last two times she played in NYC her Fazioli pianos were supplied I believe by Faust Harrison here in town.

I saw the moving truck outside the 92nd St Y when I went to see her but I don't remember a Faust Harrison logo on it but then again, it was a private moving company, I assume. I suppose it was not her personal piano but is there some way I could tell? I have some photos from the curtain call.

In NYC a couple of years ago, for two concerts in CT and NYC, she played on a Fazioli supplied by the local dealer, Faust Harrison. So she doesn't travel with her own piano always. I've also seen some Youtube videos of concerts where she plays the supplied S&S.

I have been watching her all-Bach recital sponsored by the Gilmore Foundation, which she performs on her new Fazioli. It appears that this piano has four pedals. Is that accurate? If so, what does this 4th pedal do?

It moves the hammers closer to the strings so it's, in effect, a different kind of soft pedal. This kind of soft pedal is sometimes found on uprights,

In an interview Ms Hewitt said had learnt to achieve the same effect on her Fazioli through the keys.
