Are there any members who would like to get together near Waltham, MA for informal or formal home performances? I am relatively new to this forum but can offer a nice, young Steinway D. I'm not a great pianist, but would welcome people of all talents that enjoy piano music.
Thanks!
Doug

Hi Doug, Welcome to PW!! Always great to have another local member join the group. Care to share with us how long you've been a piano addict??!! Give us an idea of when you might be interested in hosting an event. I would guess that maybe sometime after the holidays we could get a group together and force ourselves to come and enjoy your Steinway!!

Howdy, All!
It's good to see some response! I've played light classical through high school but I've been away for twenty years. I'm trying to get back some of my skills. I have never lost my love for the sound of piano. I try to attend the recitals of the Steinway Society in Boston, usually they are fantastic.
We can plan an informal get together anytime there's interest.
Sincerely,
Doug

It is nice of your to offer. And welcome! There are quite a few active New England members.
I hope you look around the archives here. There is a section of the PWF that lists tours and parties. Look at the "HOP TO" at the bottom of the page. There are some notes on a recent get together at LEABEA's home just south of Boston last weekend. Under Ma Party or some such title.
You can also find other past parties, past and future. At Larry Buck's, Ax's Recital in Lowell area, A Mason Hamlin tour, and we have had an offer to get together at Boston Piano and Organ (a whole roomful of gorgeous grands, and a 70 seat recital room), as well as a get together for Indrek Laul's concert on his new Estonia concert grand coming up (located on Piano Forum up top).
It is nice to have 'in home' get togethers as well as larger ones.
Again thank you for the offer. If a date is set, I'd love to come! Sat/Sun afternoons preferable.

What they all said! Looks like you just missed our latest gathering by only a day or two! Feb 11 is the Indrek Laul concert in Wellesley. A great chance to meet the area members and hear one terrific pianist. Do you know of the Boston Piano Amateurs ? We live in a great area for art and music!
