It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
This is what we hear playing Chopin. I posted the link (only) early on in this thread, here is the full video. Obviously, I like the modern day Roenisch upright a lot, especially as a comparison to the period Pleyel grand in the above video. Modern day pianos, mid-range and up, and not too small, are pretty good, IMHO.
I am 'doremi' because I play scales My teacher is 'domisol' because he plays chords
The difference in design between those two instruments is only about 40 years but light years in advancement. To the point that current production is little changed from the late 1880s.
We actually saw Mozarts forte piano when went on a European trip in the 80's. The piano was either in the apartment in Vienna or the Mozart House in Salzburg. I have never heard it played before but thought I had read that it had been restored and I think performed upon at a recital. Very true what he says , the piano music , and concertos were written for the pianos of his day not for the modern Steinway of today. For most of us to appreciate this sound would have meant living in the late 1700's. However I agree I prefer the music on modern instruments. (because of what my ear is used to, and I just happen to live in the 21st century thats all)
The guy with the wig is actually a quite accomplished musician and multi-skilled professional.
From his Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Vinheteiro "...is a Brazilian pianist, audio engineer, youtuber and humorist. Best known for having the largest specialized piano channel in the world on YouTube, with more than 6 million subscribers, in addition to being part of the Pânico program, from Jovem Pan FM in Brazil and co-host of Master Podcast."
Badmouthing him reflects more on you than on him.

What is the purpose of these endless youtube posts that you are posting ? Where are are we going ? What is the point ?
If you don't see the point, ignore the thread. People like the thread and have said so.
You have badmouthed 2 accomplished musicians in this thread, it is not appreciated.
Let me join in the fun then. I can only agree with LB, the wig man is indeed incredibly annoying, I've seen a few of his videos by now and his musical accomplishment seems to fall far short of his self importance.
We are just as entitled to our opinions as you are. I'm not sure who the other 'bad mouthed' musician is but there are a few performances in this thread that are not poor but very far from stellar, far better than I could do of course but probably not up to LB's playing.
I will agree that two of the pianists at least, including the Lord so-and-so, are far from accomplished. I, too, fall firmly in this category so don’t mind to say it.

The entire world was much quieter in the 1700s. I would love to go back for a visit if it were possible.

For sure , just a visit for the moment., or a cabin in the woods as long as it warm, and there is a piano.

Not baseless badmouthing, that's detestable.
There is a parallel thread, BTW, with 9 footers and world famous performers. But as I said in my OP and what the thread title says, this thread is for 6' and 4' and for most/rest of us.
It is also hypocritical to question the thread and still post in it.

Yeah, from 1880 on classical composers had 'modern day pianos', i.e. in a broad sense, they heard their compositions as we hear them today. Here is a graphical timeline of classical composers from Wikipedia.

There are no clear-cut changes in historical periods in music except in the development of the forms, structure and styles of music. Beethoven seemed to move from Classical to more Romantic. So the above table is more "idealistic"(idealistic?)than true. The same goes for composers of the late Rennassance and the early Baroque.
