I've been saving to purchase the MP11SE for a few months now and can finally do so. I'm returning to the piano after many years as a 28yo and it seemed the best option for me out of anything i read for the price. I just wanted to check if there are any others that are comparable for someone looking for mainly a practice instrument. Thank you very much for any help!
Well, that depends on your needs. You would have to outline what exactly are your goals. You realise that the MP11SE is a full stage piano and not a posh portable piano? Therefore, if you need stage piano functionality, no portable piano fits.
That said, if you don't need stage piano features, then cabinet pianos like the CA67 are slightly better in terms of action.
You need to compare actions to decide if the Grand Feel action is suitable for you. The RD2000 from Roland also has a nice action but significantly different.
Think about the attributes you want from a piano.
Then think about how important each attribute is to you eg, assign a weighting factor of 0 to 10 for each attribute to represent its importance to you. Eg action might be a 10, and aesthetics might be a 3.
Then score each model you're considering for each attribute.
By multiplying the weighting factor by the attribute score, and summing the scores for each instrument, then you will have an estimate of how suitable the instrument is.
However, without testing, you will never be sure what instrument is best for you.
