Well as some of you were aware of I was considering trading in my Sauter 130 for a Schimmel K132 or ordering a different model Sauter with a practice pedal .(which my piano lacked) Somehow I never thought I would trade in my piano for a Schimmel .I have not played any others except a 124 C series which was a very nice piano but I still preferred my Sauter. However after trying the Kozert 139 upright a few times , we decided to go ahead .Actually the sound is very similar to the Sauter in many ways. It has a practice pedal that you can still play expressively with.
So what I can tell you is -- She is sitting in our piano room and she sounds gorgeous!

I tell you the truth. The one I tried here in Dallas a year ago was as good as any upright I’ve played, including high end European makes and Steinway uprights. It is much better than their smaller models. Congratulations! I’m glad you went for it. And where are our photos to enjoy?!

I had a feeling you were going to buy it.
Congrats, Xmas came early for you.

Thanks dhull 100 ,
Sometimes it is the model that makes a very big difference. They both have a very bell like European tone .The clarity on the K132 is perhaps better than Sauter Sonder 130 and there seems to be more control when it comes to dynamics. I have been SO worried we were doing the right thing ! However as soon as I played it, I just knew I preffered it ! ( I am embarrassed to say ! ., just hard to admit to myself , I did.) Of course I felt bad for Sauter too. However they have coped for 200 years , so they shall not fall apart because of me. By way my husband fell for the piano as soon as he played it in the store. However I have made quite a few visits to the store to make sure I preffered it ., And yes I do !

Congrats, Xmas came early for you. Thanks Leurux, Yes an early Christmas present ! It is actually quite well in tune now .It will be tuned on Christmas eve again. Being almost brand new ( out the crate) I expect it will "drift " in in its tuning until it has settled. (after a few tunings)

Congrats, Karyn! I hope you have a wonderful holiday season playing it. Also would love to see a few pictures of the "gliders", since it's not something I remember looking at before.
Both makers are capable of producing some very fine instruments. Just chalk it up to a case of PAS (piano acquisition syndrome). I have to stop switching grand pianos every 5 years, myself!

You mean we both delusional ! Of course as you say Owen they are both great makers . Perhaps I should have headed it " I caught PAS from Piano World Forum" 😄 Actually the piano dealer gave us a very good deal by trading in the Sauter. Why do I suddenly feel guilty? Perhaps if I bought a GX Kawai or a CX Yamaha .......everyone would feel better....

How wonderful, Lady Bird, you deserve it.
What is her name? The only piano with a name I know is Bessie, Rickster's beloved old upright.
Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats for inspiration?

Lady Bird,
I wish you well with your new Schimmel K-139 upright (and of course no heart feelings at all for you are leaving the Sauter club...LOL...). In the end what really matters is that you are happy with the piano you currently have. Enjoy it (at least until your PAS takes you to another lover...LOL...) and please post pics for us!
Merry Christmas.

Congratulations - you will I am sure have endless hours of enjoyment! I bet your piano doesn't have a bell-like tone though!
The worst insult you could pay a piano is to say it sounds like bells, and the best compliment you could pay a bell is to say it sounds like a piano.....
If your piano sounds bell-like, then it is clangorous, has a tone of short duration that decays very rapidly, and is full of wildly out of tune harmonics!
I bet your beautiful Schimmel isn't like that.

You just need a better class of bell :-) Needs more cowbell! Sorry- couldn’t resist. Congratulations LadyBird!!! Merry Christmas a couple weeks early! How exciting! Is the new baby a Schimmel Konzert 132 or a K139? You mentioned both in your post.

The Shimmels I have played had a pure clear treble- like alpine bells ringing on Sunday mornings.

Merry Christmas. Thanks Fluxo, Sorry a typo 😕 The piano is a K132 but tall and heavy enough. The Sauter I had was a beauty, the Schimmel K132 is a beauty too .No more pianos for us .
